Project Description

Lloyd’s Register Foundation aimed to inspire the future generation of surveyors and engineers with a passion for maritime exploration.

Through our virtual reality (VR) experience, users could explore historic and contemporary ships, gaining insight into the pivotal role of surveyors in shaping modern shipbuilding. Interactive quests further engaged users in the experience.

Our Role

• Fleshing out initial ideas and working viability of many aspects of the project at storyboard level
• Modelling, texturing, lighting and animating many of the 3D elements, including both interior decks of a composite-hulled cargo ship
• Engineering the radar device interaction and animation, facilitating users in pinpointing points of failure
• Writing much of the core code in C#
• Publishing the game on VIVEPORT and Steam following the resounding success of its launch at the Heritage & Education Centre in London
